It is the third-largest city in British Columbia by population with over 223,000 residents, surpassed only by nearby Surrey and Vancouver. Burnaby is a great place to live, learn, work and play. The city works to facilitate an engaged and active citizenry, a healthy economy and has real respect for the natural environment, as it boasts over 25% of its land as parks and open space. The city of Burnaby has 41 Elementary schools and 8 Secondary schools, including Burnaby Mountain Secondary and Burnaby Central Secondary. 
Burnaby East consists of East Burnaby, Edmonds, and The Crest neighbourhoods. It’s a quiet, multicultural, suburban neighbourhood with two great parks – Burnaby Lake Park and Robert Burnaby Park.
