Burnaby South is a federal electoral district in British Columbia with Burnaby Lake, High Gate, Deer Lake, Metrotown, and more communities. It encompasses a portion of British Columbia previously included in the electoral districts of Burnaby—Douglas and Burnaby—New Westminster. Burnaby South was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for October 2015.
Burnaby South is the ultimate destination for shopping with Metropolis at Metrotown located in the neighbourhood. Metrotown SkyTrain station is one of the busiest stations in the city and used by many individuals for a commute to work. Deer Lake Park is one of the most scenic areas in the neighbourhood with a peaceful trail that connects to a lake.
